Liang-Neng Luo and Guo-Hua Lou Luo Postdoctoral Fellowship

Description
Named in honor of the parents of Dr. Mary Zi-ping Luo, one of the founding donors of the Marcus Center, the Liang-Neng Luo and Guo-Hua Lou Luo Postdoctoral Fellowships have been established to support new postdoctoral scholars who intend to work in theoretical chemistry and/or theoretical chemical engineering in the Division of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering (CCE) at Caltech.
Up to two fellowships are expected to be awarded. Awardees will be supported for up to two years with a possibility for a third-year extension. The Marcus Center will support at least one third of their salary and their Caltech faculty host will provide the remainder.
Eligibility
- PhD degree awarded by tentative postdoctoral appointment start date
- New postdoctoral appointment start date in Fall 2026 (typically)
- Research focus in theoretical chemistry and/or theoretical chemical engineering
Application requirements

- Publication list
- Research proposal (1 pg.)
This should include potential Caltech faculty sponsor(s). Candidates are encouraged to communicate with potential sponsors before submitting their application.
Also, please arrange to have two letters of reference emailed on your behalf.
Candidates whose complete applications, including both letters, are submitted no later than December 1, 2025 are guaranteed full consideration.
