The workshop brought together 18 invited speakers and over 60 participants from institutions across the United States and abroad for several days of scientific presentations and discussion. Organized by Timothy Berkelbach (Columbia University) and Sandeep Sharma (Caltech), the program highlighted recent advances in electronic structure theory, including methods for describing strongly correlated systems, excited states, quantum many-body phenomena, and complex molecular and materials systems.
As a new annual Marcus Center program, the Workshop on Electronic Structure Theory provides a dedicated forum for researchers working across different areas of electronic structure theory to exchange recent results and discuss emerging directions in the field.
The Center looks forward to welcoming the electronic structure community back to Caltech for future installments of the workshop series.
